uploading images

I would like registered users (who are at least Joomla specified publishers or higher) to be able to upload photos, but can't seem to find this setting - is it within parameters? I can only seem to upload images as super admin.

Also I get a java - applet initialization warning when trying to use java upload. Any suggestions here?

I am using Joomla 1.5.18 and php 5.

Java - with java there are some issues on some servers (search this forum) but I am not developer of this applet so it is diffucult to solve it. In new version (for Joomla! 1.6) new multiple upload feature will be added to frontend so maybe there will be no such problems.

Thank you Jan. I believe the applet allowed for multiple uploads.... as long as I upload photos, even one-at-a-time, that will work for now, I'll try again for or Joomla 1.6.

Which brings me to the first part of my post, how can allow publishers to upload photos but not registered users?

Only registerd users can upload images. There is no other option to identify users

OK, sorry, one more question,
even registered users aren't able to upload for some reason, only the super admin?

Hi, did you read the article, all users who have upload rights can upload images in categories view, in UCP only users who are owners of the category (can be all registered users)
