Not able to change colors when using templates

I'm using phoca gallery component v2.7.1 recently I installed phoca black theme and after that I changed the background color on mouseover from the parameters. But it doesn't affect category view i.e selecting Phoca gallery >> Category from menu. It affects only the plugins in the articles. Why is it so? How do I change the background color on mouseover in category view?

perhaps your global settings are getting overridden by those in the menu item parameters
