Thumbnail vertical alignment problem in IE 8 only

Hello,

I created a website using Phoca Gallery in late 2008 that looked fine in the latest versions of both Firefox and IE. Mid 2009 I noticed that thumbnail view at this website, using IE 8, suddenly the thumbnails instead of being center aligned within their outer box they appear to have the top of the image aligned with the center of the outer box. The taller thumbnails hang below the bottom of the outer box, such that they actually cover the image captions.

If I turn on IE8 "compatibility view" then the problem goes away.

But of course the ordinariy visitor will not know to do this.

The pages still look fine when viewed in Firefox.

I am using Phoca Gallery version 1.8.8.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi, maybe you should upgrade the Phoca Gallery first, and then try to check if there is no conlict e.g. with template css.

Hi Jan,

Thanks for writing back. I've asked the website owner for permission to install JoomlaPack and make a clone so I can recreate the website at my own host. Then at the clone site, I'll upgrade Phoca Gallery to the latest version and let you know what I find out.

In other words, it might take me a few days, in case the owner is out of town.
