Hello
I'm having trouble sorting files into a category on front end.
The page associated with this category contains the following text:
File 1 Information
File 2 Information
File 3 Information
Normally, the links to all the files in this category should appear sequentially, with some text associated with each file.
I would like to see the links in the same order in this second part of the page:
Link to file 1
Link to file 2
Link to file 3
But it's not working at the moment.
So I started by resaving all the files in this category in the correct chronological order. In Phoca download display, I selected "File ordering date descending."
I cleared the cache.
I restarted the local server (MAMP PRO), but nothing has worked; the links are still out of order in the footer of the front end for this category.
Thank you if you can help me.

Re: sorting files into a category on front end
Hi,
First of all:
Which version of Joomla are you using?
Which version of Phoca Download Component are you using?
If not, please take screenshots of the problem and post them here, because I don't understand it and therefore can't reproduce it...
Kind regards,
Benno

Re: sorting files into a category on front end
Hi,
I am using joomla 6.0.0
PhocaDownload 6.0.0 too
I don’t use Phoca Download Plugin.
As I need to show you 3 screen captures, I did a folder containing them
and uploaded there
https://transfert.free.fr/ROmf8mU
Files will be avalaible for one month only
I am focusing on a category named Livrets Rosaire. Alias livrets-rosaire
This category contains 16 files
see capture '1 files in my order'
Here is a capture of phocadownload folder end of list, containing all files sorted by date.
What I did yesterday is to re ordered all concerned files by
Copy them in an external folder
Delete them in phocadownload folder
Record them one by one in phocadownload folder in the right order I want.
( By the way I forgot to change one file in this category so there is only 15 files in the right order here above.)
Now see capture 2 Top of page
In site front end this is a capture of Top of the page display for this category, where I introduce the different files user can download sorry it’s in French
This text has been created in Phocadownload backend /Categories/Livrets Rosaire/General Options/ text area
now see at '3 following first links'
Following this, in front end are displayed files contained in this category showing 6 first files presented
This is not the presentation order I want for downlodable files, I want the ascending recording date.
I specified that in Phocadownload/ Parameters/File ordering : Date descending
So something is wrong , for me it must be first file “marche a suivreV1”
I certainly did a mistake but where ?
Thanks a lot for your help

Re: sorting files into a category on front end
Hi, sorry, maybe I wrongly understand this. When you set the default ordering for the frontend:

it is ordered by this ordering until the user in frontend changes it.

Re: sorting files into a category on front end
Hi,
I'm not really sure if I understood you correctly either. I added 10 test files to a Phoca Download category at short intervals, and they are also displayed in that order in the frontend:
Backend:

Frontend:

I'm not sure if this has any influence, but I can see from your screenshots that you are using file names with spaces in some cases. This should be avoided:

Kind regards,
Benno
