If you create a menu item in Joomla you have the option to add metadata robots noindex nofollow or similar.
This works for a menu item such as a list of articles. However if I do it for a Phoca Download menu item such as a category list of files the options on the menu item are not present when I view the source for the page

Re: Menu Metadata not used by Phoca Download
Hi, then each view.html.php for each view needs to be customized, for now there is:
- page_heading
- page_title
- sitename_pagetitles
- menu-meta_description
- menu-meta_keywords
- menupage_title
managed, e.g. in components/com_phocadownload/views/categories/view.html.php in method _prepareDocument

Re: Menu Metadata not used by Phoca Download
Thanks, but this should really be part of the standard product rather than a customization. Joomla allows the option tobe set in the menu item like the other fields such as page_title. However Phoca then ignores the robots setting when building the page unlike the other options
Doing a customization of core code isn't a good idea as it would need to be reapplied for every release
