Upload fails but it´s actually there on the server

Hi.
I face the following problem.
I want to upload a picture and got the error message that the upload failed.
German: "Fehler! Die Datei konnte nicht heraufgeladen werden."
English: " Error! The File couldn´t be uploaded"

When i check the directory on the server the file is there but it is not listed in Phoca Gallery.
Phoca Gallery 2.5.6
Joomla 1.5.12

Has anyone an idea what the reason could be?

Hi, after upload you need to add the image into the gallery, so uploaded image will be not included in gallery. It needs to be added, see:
