Thumbnails blurry + category view

Hi everyone, I know this has been asked before but the threads I found where a couple years old.
I have been batch uploading images into different categories. The thumbnails are all blurry ! I set the JPEG quality to 100 already.
I have also managed to recreate the demo page in the categories view but then when I click into a category it doesn't look like that at all. I have tried themes but they mess up the categories view.

Hi, what you mean with "blurry", can you paste a screenshot? Do you get the same problem with PNGs? Thumbnails are created by GD library which is a part of PHP on your server, but I think, there should not be specific settings to somehow distort the images

I can't paste anything here. But the thumbnails are all blurry. The way a blurry picture looks. I havnt tried png yet

Which versions are you using: Joomla, Phocagallery?
What do you mean with "demo page" resp. "themes" > which one?

may be you hv to re-create the thumbnails.
