Hello,
I'm using Gallery 4.1.1.
I would like to install the update 4.2.1, but I get the error :
An error has occurred.
-1 Copy file failed
Tried installing through "Upload Package File" and "Install from Folder" but I get the same error.
Any workaround ?
Greets,

Hi,
a) In general, folder should be 755, files 644.
b) (configuration.php I always have: 444 - except when I need to change something on it). But there is no need to do something on it in your case.
c) So, check especially: index.php
d) Also; whether your "tmp" is writable or not. Sometimes the "tmp" is full of 'old' installations, so you have to delete these items (just only to have the index.html in "tmp")
Above, are just some ideas
Kind regards, Christine

Hi,
do you use 'FTP Settings' inside Joomla! Global Configuration --> Server Settings?
Check file/folder ownership
Kind regards,
Benno

Hi Kurt,
a) about ownership etc: https://docs.joomla.org/How_do_UNIX_fil ... ns_work%3F
b) and server configuration: https://docs.joomla.org/Security_Checkl ... ing_Apache > "PHP Being Run as an Apache Module"
c) in some cases (of course, it depends on your hoster) [provided the permissions are set correctly as mentioned above] to aks for: "recursive".
Your response belongs to permissions settings. Mostly: index.php and/or tmp file and/or wrong hoster configuration, see b)
