I am new to Gallery, but have not been able to find any mention/help via forums or otherwise on a peculiar problem. I sucessfully installed Gallery, and it created the directories and DB tables. However, when I go to create a new Category, or add a new image (pretty much when I click on any action within the Categories or Images tabs), it takes me immediately back to the Joomla control panel. As far as I know, everything should work (PHP 5.2.5 with the GD library, Joomla 1.5.9, Phoca Gallery 2.2.0). I am looking forward to using this as it appears to do what I need, but so far cannot. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
William

Hi, does other installed components work for you? Try to do these actions in other browser.

Thanks for the response...
The other installed components appear to work fine; however, Gallery is the first third-party component I've installed. I did try this in Chrome with the same result. I will also try FireFox. Do you have any suggestions of to what I could look for? I turned on debugging, but don't see anything obvious out of order.

I've tried FireFox with same result. Loaded a couple third party components, and they work fine. Still trying different things, though.

Re: Gallery Actions Return Joomla Control panel
Hi All,
I have exactly the same problem.
Didn't find an answer on google or the Phoca forum.
When i click one of the buttons 'inside' images/categories/themes/rating/comments or info in the Phoca gallery it returns to Joomla Control Panel.
So, when i'm for instance in 'Categories' and I click onthe buttons "new" , it returns to the Joomla Control Panel
Same for 'Image's'.
The button 'parameters' seems to work and opens it's parameters (which i'm able to save/modify).
The tables in MySQL are build correctly as specified in the 'install.bak' file.
Hope somebody can help. I'll take a second look for the GD library within PHP but I don't think that's where I need to start looking.

Isn't this problem the same as yours? viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4715
Please ask your support questions in the forums and not via PM - I delete those PM's

I am having the same issue, and for me at least is no. It takes me back to the Joomla main control panel and I am still logged in.caro84g wrote:Isn't this problem the same as yours? viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4715
My info is PHP version 5.2.5 with GD, Joomla 1.5.11, and Phoca 2.2.0 and 2.2.4.
Web hosting info is provided by GoDaddy with a windows hosting package... yea yea yea I know.
Database looks good from what I can tell, and since I really haven't done anything with Joomla yet I decided to do a complete wipe and reinstall to 2.2.0.
It still did it. Then I upgraded it to 2.2.4 and that didn't help.
EDIT:
Since I am new to Joomla, I've been trying many different plugins to see what I liked. So far, this is the first problem I've come across that wasn't explanable due to a missing binary file or php.ini setting that I couldn't change because I am on a windows hosting plan.
I've even run some other photo gallery programs with a fair amount of success. ie: got another photo gallery working, but couldn't change allow_url_fopen to ON to get thumbnails to be created.
