Batch upload for front-end users

Post by danielbrezina.com »

Hi,

I am currently creating a site and all my front-end users should be able to upload a larger amount of pictures to a pre-defined categories. But the more I try to set it up the less it works.

I can upload only one image at a moment (so - can Phoca do a batch upload?) and I can´t choose a category (ony one appears).

Screenshots are attached...

So is there any way how my registered front-end only users can add the whole gallery? The website should be a center for people to post photos from their actions and so on... Something like xichty.cz.

Hi,

download phoca gallery 2.2.0 beta and in the parameters (components > phoca gallery > control panel > parameters button) enable Java upload in the frontend.

Thank you for quick response... It helped partly (it enabled batch upload). But I had to update my Java to latest version to make it really work. But it didn´t really solve the other problem - the possibility to choosing a category to upload... I´m still searching for the solution, so if there´s any idea - THANK YOU IN ADVANCE :-)

Hi,

if you show the categories, you can enable to show the user control panel, so that users can upload to that specific category. (you need to enable upload for users in the backend per category)

Users can create only one category at the moment, and upload to that category, unless you manually remove the 'author' of that category.
