Changing Vertical to horizontal

Hi

I am using joomla3.x

I would like to change the layout of categories from vertical to horizontal
instead of having it displayed like this

Category 1
Category 2
Category 3
Category 4

i would like it to display like this
Category 1 Category 2 Category 3
Category 4 Category 5 Category 6

How would i go on doing thing?
