Multiple Add

Post by jsm1 »

Hi,
I have two problems with *Multiple Add* function:

1. I cannot select a folder. When I click on the folder name (or I write it), the folder opens and I have to choose only one singe image.

2. I don't undestand, what it means: Clear completed. How should be used. I click on it and nothing happens. I suppose maybe it should clear the list above. There are still all images.

Thanks

Hi,

2. Clear completed is a flash upload function, it clears completed uploaded files but this will not happen in Phoca Gallery, because after upload, thumbnails need to be done and after thumbnail creation the page will be actualized (refreshed). Some systems use this flash upload function without refreshing the site, so after upload of images, the clearing of list is needed ... but this is not used in Phoca Gallery

1. Selecting folder should be done by clicking the check box input field

He speak about the folder selection in the system browse window ...
that popup when you push the "browse" button either in phoca multiple upload/media manager ...

I've the same problem in all phoca installations/pcs where i work !!

From IE i can't select more that 1 file or a folder but i believe to understand that this is a known problem ...

The thing more relevant is that in firefox i can select multiple files but not a folder !!

This is a big problem because i've to create categories/folders/subcategories/subfolders all manually :(

Have you never lisen something about this problem?

I hope in a suggestion...

I'm thinking about a wrong javascript call to the browse window ... or a firefox option to enable ... but i don't know by now

Best Regards

@Andrea,

The upload function in Multiple add is the same upload function as in the Joomla! Media Manager. So check out if the upload function works good in the Joomla! Media Manager. (And notice the red box on top of this forum).

Hi,

you can upload pictures via FTP and then add them to the gallery via multiple add.

I've uploaded my pictures with a FTP program, but if I select Multiple Add (FF3, Flash 9, XP) I can browse folders, but can't open the folder with the pictures in it. It just goes back to the phocagalleryroot.

I can check the box of the folder with the pictures in them, and this will add all pictures to a category, but it will automaticly be a category named by this folder, thus making it impossible to add new pictures to an existing category
For every multiple add it will create a new category. Even if you choose a category to add to in multiple add, it will make a subcategory.

How can this be solved?

Hi,

can you browse images with the add function?
and with the Joomla! media manager?
And how are your permissions for the folders in images/phocagallery?

Never mind, it was something I already knew was giving problems. Spaces in folder names
