Upgrading Phoca Gallery from Joomla 2.5.19 to 3.2

UPDATE TO MY ORIGINAL POST:

I was able to upgrade from Joomla 2.5.19 to Joomla 3.2.3 without getting errors. But I'm getting errors on the site frontend from Phoca Gallery. Here are the steps I took to upgrade to J3.2.3:
a) I disabled Phoca Gallery extensions.

b) I upgraded from J2.5.19 to J3.2.3

c) I installed the new Phoca Gallery extensions:
com_phocagallery_v4.1.0.zip
mod_phocagallery_image_v4.0.0.zip
mod_phocagallery_tree_v4.0.2.zip
mod_phocagallery_menu_v3.2.0.zip (I could not find a Joomla version 3 for this Phoca extension).
com_pi_pg3.zip

d) Then I enabled the Phoca Gallery extensions.

e) I cleared the site cache files.

When I tried to access the site frontend I got the following error message:
Oh, dear, we have a 1146
Table 'cpanelname_03testing2345db.fkcl_phocagallery_styles' doesn't exist SQL=SELECT a.filename as filename, a.type as type, a.menulink as menulink FROM fkcl_phocagallery_styles AS a WHERE a.published = 1 ORDER BY a.type, a.ordering ASC

I use Phoca Image Modules on all of my site pages so it seems like that's why none of my site pages are displaying due to the Phoca error.

1) Can you tell me how to fix this?

2) Is there a Joomla 3.2.3 version of the mod_phocagallery_menu_v3.2.0.zip file?

3) I searched the forum and found some posts asking about upgrading different Phoca extensions from J2.5 to J3.x. From what I read it seems like the Phoca extensions will not be ready for Joomla 3.x until after the stable release of Joomla 3.2x. Let me know if I am correct on that. If not, then can I just download and install the Phoca Gallery for Joomla version 3 downloads to upgrade from Phoca for Joomla 2.5x to J3.2x?
I read that you do not have the documentation for Joomla 3 extensions finished yet so I was wondering if that means you advise users to not upgrade with the Phoca Gallery downloads for J3 until you have that completed.

4) Is the best option to wait to upgrade until after you have released Phoca Gallery extension downloads when the stable versions of Joomla 3.2x are released?

Hi,

1) the styles table should be added as it is new - e.g. when you will follow this guide (it it similar but it is for 1.5 to 2.5) you will see, that the tables are installed by new installation which then prevents from such problems: https://www.phoca.cz/documents/50-phoca/ ... -joomla-25

2) No I still didn't find time to overwrite it

3) Phoca extensions are ready for Joomla! 3 but there is a difference between new installation and migration. Phoca Extensions are ready for Joomla! 3 but you can write guide for migrating between 2.5 and 3.5 when it will be stable LTS (because first the Joomla! needs to be stable and you will know, nothing will be changed so then you can write a guide which takes a sense - of course If I would have a lot of time I could it write immediately but I didn't do the migration yet as it is not recommended so I cannot write a guide for it. And of course the STS LTS cycle is changing now so we still need to wait until there is some clear information. BUT this has nothing to do with the functionality. If there is not migrate guide, this does not mean, Phoca extensions are not working for Joomla! 3. They were overwritten directly for Joomla! 3 and are Joomla! 3 extensions.

4) The best options should be to wait for Joomla! 3 stable LTS which should be 3.5 (but seems something changed there, so we still need to wait for clear information, which version will be the stable LTS)

Okay, I will wait for the Joomla 3.5 stable release before migrating my J2.5.19 site and Phoca Gallery for J2.5 to J3.5. If you need help with writing the Phoca migrating/upgrading to J3.5 guide then let me know what I can help you with on that.

There will not be a LTS of Joomla! 3

So all the developers can focus at Joomla! 3 as the release for the future.
I hope there will be a good documentation soon for migrating the Phoca extensions from Joomla! 2.5 to Joomla! 3.x

Hi Jan,

I hope your summer is going well.

I need to upgrade my Joomla sites from versions J2.5x to J3.x. Is there an upgrade/migration download to convert my Phoca Gallery component and files from J2.5x to J3.x versions?

I use Phoca Gallery on my sites and I was hoping that there is an easier way to upgrade Phoca Gallery for the migration without having to get a programmer to help me with the SQL scripts and other steps in the guide posted in the thread viewtopic.php?f=30&t=25731&p=96944#p96944

I'm not a programmer so running SQL scripts is risky for me and I do not want to make a mistake and corrupt my website database or files.
If you don't have a Phoca Gallery download that will do the migration from J2.5x to J3.x then can you recommend anyone that can help me with the scripts and steps mentioned in that other forum thread?

That link to the guide is to migrate extensions from Joomla! 1.5 to Joomla! 2.5.
Is it the same guide to use to migrate Phoca Gallery extensions from Joomla 2.5x to Joomla 3.x versions?
