Duplicate URLs for Categories View and Details View.

Hi,

I have a problem with duplicate URLs showing up for Categories View and Details View. For example, my Menu Item for Categories View is at:
nemmar.org/animals-pets-veterinary-wildlife-groups-directory/photos-pictures

A sample Details View of one of the photos in a Category photo gallery is:
nemmar.org/animals-pets-veterinary-wildlife-groups-directory/photos-pictures/16-animals-wildlife-8/detail/10444-3932-pet-transporters-veterinary-emergency-veterinarian-finder

But when I created a Sitemap for my site I noticed the duplicate URLs. For example, the same Details View photo name leads to this URL:
nemmar.org/animals-pets-veterinary-wildlife-groups-directory/photos-pictures/100229-3932-pet-transporters-veterinary-emergency-veterinarian-finder

You can see the photo filename in both URLs: 3932-pet-transporters-veterinary-emergency-veterinarian-finder

This happens with all of my photos in the galleries so there is a duplicate URL for every photo Details View page. It seems that Phoca Gallery displays the Categories on two different URLs but I only want the menu item URL to be accessible so I don't get duplicate URLs with my photo Details Views.

My guess is I just have to enable/disable one of the options in Phoca Control Panel but I cannot find which one will fix this.

Hi, do you get the same problem when you disable SEF, do you get the same problem when you remove the numbers from your aliases (to be not in conflict with IDs) - I cannot say what can be wrong in SEF or sitemap xml or what can be in conflict try to remove the numbers, maybe it can help

Hi Jan,

1) Yes, I get the same problem when I disable SEF in Joomla Global Configs. I tested this out and both URLs are still accessible.

2) I cannot remove the numbers in the URL aliases because I need the photo filenames numbered consecutively.

If this is not something that you have seen before then maybe the problem is caused with Details Views. I do not use the popups option for my Phoca Galleries since I only use the Details Views when the photo thumbnails are clicked to view the full size photos.

If this is only a problem in Phoca Gallery for Joomla 2.5x then I will wait until I upgrade to Joomla 3.2x in a few months to see if the problem is solved.

Hi, I cannot reproduce the problem, try to remove the numbers ( 2) ) to test it - to know this can be caused by this issue (from my experiences some server can get problems with this issue). Did you try to check the component which produces the sitemap - this is really hard to give some advice as I don't know use sitemap components
