Phoca Gallery language not correct

I am running a Joomla site (Joomla! 2.5.17 Stable [ Ember ] 18-December-2013 14:30 GMT ) with Phoca Gallery (3.5.2) fiinctionally successful. However, the whole site is in German, the installed languages are German and English with German being standard, but the Phoca Gallery is all in English, the site as well as the Admin pages.

I checked the Help instructions on the respective page at Phoca that says:

How to install language pack in Joomla!
Some component language packs cannot be installed in Extension Manager (e.g. because they don't include XML setup file). In such case, they need to be installed manually.

See the following example (German language pack for Phoca Gallery component), how to install language pack manually:

Download German language ZIP pack and unzip it. You should get two files:

de-DE.com_phocagallery.ini
de-DE.com_phocagallery.menu.ini

Copy both files into the following destination:

administrator/language/de-DE/ folder and
language/de-DE/ folder on your server.

If the German language is active (admin, front) on your Joomla! site, then the Phoca Gallery component will be translated to German.

I did all that and the files are FTPed in the right locations, but still all gallery sites are in English and I don't know how to proceed to have this shown in Germn as well.

Has anyone any ideas?

Use the normal Joomla! installer. Set german as standard language.

Thanks benno for this hint, with the named langauge pack all went well and all phoca pages show up in German.
