Direct Link to categorieS view & filter category - pls help

Hi there

I hope someone out there can help me with this asap...

This is what I can do:
I can easily set a menu link to the categories view (NOT category) and in the options of the menu link set a filter of the main categories which I want displayed, which is great (last option at the bottom of the menu link settings), so that I get a categories view with only one or two of all my categories, which is perfect.

This is what I can't do (but need to do quite urgently ):
How do I do that in a direct link? The idea is to have a link somewhat like this:

http://www....com/index.php?option=com_phocagallery&view=categories&category=1

Or somewhat similar to this, so basically what works perfectly when I use a direct menu link in Joomla, but with the right options in the link (instead of my simply invented and totally made-up red coloured option above).

I am using Joomla 3.x and the newest version of PG.

Hi, in Menu manager you can set a menu link to specific category, but there is no such view (categories view with specific category set in GET parameter) - for this you need to customize new view which will accept GET parameter "category".
