Facebook ca-bundle error

Post by ChrisCW »

I have no idea why, but my last topic and account were deleted

Basically Im having problems with the Alpha version of Phoca Gallery installed on Joomla 3, nothing major just the Facebook import feature

Whenever I try to connect accounts etc it comes up with the following error:

Code: Select all

Facebook API Error: error setting certificate verify locations: CAfile: /etc/pki/tls/certs/ca-bundle.crt CApath: none (77)
It manages to display the avatar of the user Im trying to connect, but thats it

Any help will be greatly appreciated

PLEASE DO NOT DELETE MY ACCOUNT AGAIN, Im after some simple advice thats all, apologies if this has been covered before but I cant find it! I know this is a Alpha version that shouldnt be used on a live site, but it seems stable enough to me!

Hi,

posts or accounts can be deleted by automatic spam protection method, see forum-rules.php

Do you get this problem in latest Phoca Gallery 4 version (in RC). when you install the 3.2.6 on Joomla! 2.5, do you get the same problem?

Yes its with the latest version 4.0.0 in Joomla 3.1.1

Does the same with 3.2.6 on Joomla 2.5, so Im guessing now its server or permission errors?

Ive looked for the file it mentions, some of the folders are outside public_html on the server, but no exact matching folder or file
I add one I downloaded from elsewhere, but it doesnt accept it

Hmm, then really no idea what can be wrong there with the ca (the problem is then somewhere between the server and facebook server but what exactly can be it, really no idea  )

Does everyone have to install a ca-bundle certificate file or is it just me? Is it supposed to be there by default on the server if it supports json_decode and cUrl?

OK but it doesnt match the name or path of the error
How would I tell set CURL to disable the certificate check / disable SSL Certificate Validation?

Getting close now!
To avoid the error I edited the base_facebook file and changed the default CURL options so it would ignore the SSL request with the following code:

Code: Select all

CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER => FALSE
So now finally it lets me see the albums of my connected Facebook! :)
Problem is though, when I add a new Category and enter the details, as soon as I click 'Facebook Import' it jumps to the Phoca Gallery control panel, no warnings or errors etc, and no images added

Do I need to add code elsewhere to ensure the SSL verifier is completely ignored?

Hi, no idea, but this seems like you get some error which is disabled (maybe if you have removed it, you don't get any error message, only redirect back to control panel - but really no sure - but seems like the error is still there but you don't get the error message)
