for joomla 2.5.6
You can ordering files from oldest to newest in front end?

(in phocadownload for joomla 1.5 was possible)

This is the general settings:
File Ordering - (Ordering Ascending | Ordering Descending | Title Ascending | Title Descending | Date Ascending | Date Descending | ID Ascending | ID Descending) Set file ordering
