Stuck on creating thumbs!

Hi guys,

I have a problem. I was creating some thumbs when suddenly i got this error screen:

Phoca Gallery is creating thumbnail(s) now. Please wait...
Thumbnail Generating 08072011715.jpg ... Error

What to do now : - No Action
Image (wrong type or broken image) - remove the image or upload new image via e.g. FTP
GD Library (not correctly working GD library, not working GD functions) - install or reinstall GD library
Permissions (no rights to write files or folders) - change the permissions of image/phocagallery folders on your server,
you can go back to Phoca Gallery. Phoca Gallery will try to generate the thumbnails again.
Go to the Phoca Gallery
- If you want to go back to Phoca Gallery and you want that Phoca Gallery will not try to generate thumbnails, click on
Go to the Phoca Gallery with disabling the automatic thumbnails generating
You can enable Thumbnails Generating in Options again.
- If you want to fix the problem with help of Media Manager (remove the original image or upload new original image), you can go to the Media Manager.

And now whenever i click on Image link in Phoca Gallery component i get the same screen. I left the screen idle, thinking the stuff will get processed eventually but it didnt. I also tried to click on Go to Phoca Gallery with disabling the automatic thumb generating link and it doesnt do anything.

How can i solve this?

I have somehow managed to get pass this error with clearing all the caches i found in my browser and joomla.

It seems i have some bogus pictures in my folder with too long names. I have shorten the names from 12 chars to 5 and it works now..

How can i recreate all the thumbs now? Some of them are showing, some of them are not on pictures..

After researching futher, 3 of my pics were broken somehow, nothing to do with filename length.

Hi,

- you can recreate thumbnails when you enable thumbnails creation in options
- you can then remove the thumbnails on your server, so they will be newly created or you can click on create button.

In case you get error about creating thumbnails, maybe you could enable php error reporting to see which error you get there (mostly php will display some error message)
