love the look and ease of phoca gallery however i've got a few queries before i bite the bullet and implement it on my site.
i operate a club site where members can upload images, get images of events we've attended etc etc.
I currently use joomgallery, however it's time for a change and phoca gallery is high up there in the contentions list.
What i want/need to know is:
1/ is there any way of transfering/migrating my joomlagallery into phocagallery? (had a quick search but couldn't find
anything)
2/ has there been any development on auto-creating user albums? Essentially all i want is that when a new user
registers they automatically have a gallery created for their pictures, they don't/can't then add others unless admin

Re: importing joomgallery/autocreate albums
Hi,
1) I think, not
, I don't know JoomGallery, but I think, the tables, columns and features are different, so it will be not easy to convert it. But in Phoca Gallery, there is a multiple add function, you add your images to folders and subfolders, then you copy them to your server and after clicking on multiple add, Phoca Gallery automatically add images to system, will create thumbnails, from folders it will make categories, from subfolders subcategories, etc.
2) Hi, users can create a main category, only one and a lot of subcategories, so they:
- can create the main category in UCP - only one
- or it can be created by admin
- or somewhere on the forum, there was some guide (but it is some time ago
) that while registering, new category for user will be created - this cannot be done for Phoca Gallery, as the core files of Joomla! needs to be edited
