SEF and Phoca Gallery

Post by gvannauw »

Good morning/afternoon everyone,
I am having problems with the phoca gallery module when activating SEF in joomla 1.5.17
When I create a link in the top menu using Phoca Gallery Category list layout and I have SEF and Mod rewrite enabled, when clicking on the photoalbum link, I get an error 404 "Component not found". All the rest of the links work correctly. I have read through the various suggestions that were presented on the forum, but can't figure out on how to implement this in the current website. There is talk about creating hidden menu's etc, but fail to understand the procedure behind it.

For good orders' sake, this is the url http://www.schilderwerkenrodrigus.be.
Clicking on the tab "fotoboek" now generates the error, since I activated the SEF/SEO again this morning

Is there anyone who can shed some light on the possible solution??

Tks + Best regards

Hi, you should check your SEF settings, maybe your htaccess too:

http://www.schilderwerkenrodrigus.be/in ... 15&option=

This is of course not correctly created menu link.

Try to remove e.g. .html suffix (maybe this can help too, BTW - there is no reason to use .html suffix)

Hi Jan,
Thank you for your reply. I have now disabled the adding of the html suffix, but it still gives the same result. I am using the standard htaccess file that comes with the joomla installation and apart from commenting out following line

## Can be commented out if causes errors, see notes above.
# Options +FollowSymLinks

which gave problems, I haven't made any other changes to the file

Got it, renewed the top menu item of fotoboek after I switched on SEF and this apparently created the correct link.
So bottomline, when creating a link to the phoca gallery SEF should already be turned on, otherwise a 404 error will be displayed

Tks + b regards
