Hi,

(a) in Categories View (category list) you cannot set categories - all are displayed (you can set in parameters that some of the categories will be hidden - not displayed. - Category can be selected in Category View

You can customize the template so it fits your needs but for now only the option which are described on the concept and glossary site (link above) is possible.
