Image displayed with distortion using Picasa

Hello,

I just installed Phoca in a new site. (It is not he first time using Phoca)
Displaying a gallery with images located on the server is no problem.
But when I try to open an image linked to Picasa the image is distorted. When I choose "next image" or "previous image" it is also distorted. But when I choose "start slideshow" the actual image changes to normal and the following images are displayed correctly too.

Does anybody have an idea how to solve this problem?

Using Picasa-Images slows the server down, isn't it? And I imagine I have to live with it? It woud be greate if there would be the posibility to copy the Picasa-Images to the webspace. Would this be possilbe in future??

Hi, using Picasa Images doesn't slow down your server, because images are loaded from Picasa, not from your server.

Try to test it with Phoca Gallery version 2.7.0 if there will be the same problem?

I updated to 2.7.0 Beta but the problems still occur.
- It is rather slow (considerably slower than with images saved on my own server) and
- the distortion.

Hi, then you should to check your internet connection or ask on Google Picasa help. The images are loaded from Picasa server, so maybe there can be some problem

Google Picasa uses specific sizes for displaying images and thumbnails:

Thumbnails - 32px, 48px, 64px, 72px, 104px, 144px, 150px, 160px
Images - 94px, 110px, 128px, 200px, 220px, 288px, 320px, 400px, 512px, 576px, 640px, 720px, 800px, 912px, 1024px, 1152px, 1280px, 1440px, 1600px.
If the size of thumbnail or image is different from Phoca Gallery settings, then Phoca Gallery will try to correct the size. If you will use Phoca Gallery for displaying Picasa images, it is recommended to use the same size of thumbnails for Phoca Gallery which is used in Picasa, e.g.:

Small thumbnail - 48px (50px is default in Phoca Gallery)
Medium thumbnail - 104px (100px is default in Phoca Gallery)
Large thumbnail - 640px (640px is default in Phoca Gallery).

Maybe try to set other size in parameters.
