Re: other folder
Still don't understand:
- you want to have images in another folder:
a) outside phocagallery folder
b) inside phoca gallery folder
- or just use different folders for different images
or ? what is the reason to have the images in another folder ?

Re: other folder - security reasons
Hello welcome, this my first post
Thanks for great component!
I think that uweb want do the same as me:
1. Define an external folder for big original files (without watermarks) - eg. on external server (other ip)
2. Define phocafolder only for it's thumbnails (with watermark protection) - they can be stolen
but pt.1 directory path is hidden for users.
Today i have installed the phoca gallery and the original files are not protected :/
users can easily copy it, for example:
When user go to gallery there are direct links: /images/phocagallery/folder/thumbs/phoca_thumb_m_IMAGE.jpg (with watermark on it).
To copy our original image is sufficient enough to change the link (remove a piece) to: /images/phocagallery/folder/IMAGE.jpg and we have original photo without watermark :/
I want to keep the original pictures somewhere else, where the user does not have access.

Re: other folder
Hi, then you need to remove the originals after thumbnails creation (but there are limits - no download possible, no size information, no exif information, not possible to make rotating, recreating, ... )
Or try to set some password for the folder (on server side)
