How do I allow users to register so they can upload images?

I have seen lots of threads about users having to register to be able to leave comments and upload images; ok, a pain, but that's the way it is for now.

However, I can't see any way to allow users to register so they can do this. Am I missing something obvious or do I need another plugin?

Hi, this depends on your Joomla! site, see the global configuration of your Joomla!, see e.g. the login module in Joomla! where you can define registration for the user in your Joomla! Phoca Gallery works with Joomla! registered users.
