thumbnail loading error

Hallo everybody

I'm a new user on the bord.

I have tried the phoca gallery lokal on my pc via xampp and everything went perfekt.
Then I decided to upload the created page of mine on the 1&1 server. After uploading everything went perfekt except the gallery.

I only get an error when i try to upload an image and create a thumbnail with the automathical thumbnail creation is enabled.But i allready have found out that some people have the same issue but i haven't found a solution yet.

I'm using: phoca Gallery v 2.6.1 i think the current one
and joomla 1.5.15 german pack
the hoster is 1und1.de

Has anybody an idea how i could fix this problem????

Hi, what exactly of error you get? see the info if the server meets requirements or if the phoca gallery has recommended settings.

it seems as the servers doesn't offer enough cache for calculating images bigger than 500kB
as far as i try with resized images there is no problem but if one image is bigger than 500kB i have to disable authomatic thumbnail creation

I had the same problem. It has to do with the CHmod (rights) on your category-images-map on the server. In order to be able to create thumbs Phoca will create a submap thumbs under your category-images-map on the server.

If rights are set to not-writing enable it will not be able to make this map and Phoca will nog be able to create the thumbnails.

My somewhat inconvenient sollution: use FTP to set CHmod on the category-images-map to 777 and manually create a submap thumbs with the same rights 777. Rerun Phoca thumbcreation and it will work.
