Re: Problems in defining categories
I've got the same problem with V2.6.1. I've used earlier versions of PhocaGallery on several websites without getting this error message. I have no idea what you mean on the troubleshooting page. In my phpAdmin (which i have never had to use before), it asks me for the table name - where do I find that in the install.bak file - and then for how many fields - where do I get that information? If I put in a random name and number, then it takes me to a screen full of stuff that I have no idea about (field / type / length / values / collation / attributes / etc etc - what are all these things?). You say to run the SQL queries - what are they, and where do I do that, and how?
I have to say that this inability to install PhocaGallery in the usual way that Joomla addons work is most disappointing. None of the other Joomla addons that I've used need manual installation by manipulating the database, including large components like Community Builder. It means that I guess that I'll have to find another gallery component, and that's a great shame - unless you can come up with a solution that works for me.

Re: Problems in defining categories
Hi Bartje1 Thanks for that advice. I am very embarrassed, as I always tell my clients to "read the screen". And I did not follow my own advice this time.
I uninstalled the component and then reinstalled it - and it worked perfectly.
I apologise to the developers.
If I can suggest something: Make the notice about using the Install button in bold and red and large. This is a new thing for V2.6.1, and us old users did not think to look for the change.
