ummmmm can't find anywhere in phocagallery.css where padding is set to 3px

Seems I was misled by the padding, when I looked at the layout of the div in Firebug, the width was 80 px with image size set 74 x 74 and padding 3px all around. This despite the fact the image size for thumbnails in configuration was set to default 50 x 50 and had never been changed.

I changed thumbnail size to 75 x 75 and recreated thumbnails, padding is now more in proportion but it's not what I want. The thumbnails are too big.

I'm not using shadow image at all.

The question is why, if thumbnail size is set to 50 x 50, does the division layout set to be 80 x 80? And how do I change it? I would still like to change the padding as well.

Ok, depends of course from the version of Phoca Gallery you've installed...

I have 2.6.1, but with the German language file, so I had to rely on the online documentation for the parameter's name. It's in the thumbnails section, below the Margin box and Padding box settings there are 4 parameters for displaying/hiding the name and several symbols, then another three parameters - font size, maximum length of names, and the third one is the one I mean (there is a default value of 15).

Is that the one you mean .....? As you can see I have it set to 0 .............

Yes, that's the one I meant. Did you try to set it to 1 instead of 0? Sometimes means 0 a default value...

annoying thing is that I have this working on another site, beautifully

I really want to stick with Phoca Gallery but my client definitely won't like the thumbnail display the way it is

If it's working on the other site I would guess it's the template, because your working site has another template... Did you try a standard template?

I've just been sitting cogitating about this and had come to the same conclusion ..... and spot on!

the site it didn't work on has a template generated by Artisteer and with a lot of core joomla stuff hacked out (not by me I hasten to add); I was planning to move it back to standard joomla template, looks like that gets priority now!
