Error while saving image

Hi, i get error while saving image when im trying to upload pics to either an existing category or a category i make from the front end user cp, it makes the category ok but says Error while saving image. This has happened twice now and seems to happen after i try to create thumbnails for about 600 pics (which fails about half way thru), it seems to have broken something, is there any specific tables that relate to this that i can check?

ive discovered that the images are being loaded to the FTP server i think the issue that the thumbnail creation is failing, this happens after thumbnail creation fails when i tried to make thumnails for 600+ image, is there anyway to check the thumbail creation tables/application is working? or how to reset it?...
