change folder icon

can anybody telle me if there is an option that i can change the folder icon that is displayed in the subcategories page?

Hi,
just replace the corresponding file of the icon with your own, it's in the images-folder of the component.

thanks for the reply. i mean that i'd like to set the folder icon myself for every subcategory. this way you propose all subcategories will have the same image/icon. this is automatic for the the first level category. it randomly chooses an images from the category and shows it as an icon of the view.

ah, sorry. apparently I misunderstood your question...

no this is not possible. but you could try this workaround, maybe it works and it's what you're looking for:
create an icon for each of your categories, add them to the category, set the ordering so that it's displayed as the first image, and the category-thumbnail from random to ascending (it takes the first image of the category as the "icon")...
