Choosing when to show or not to show geotagging

Post by derebo »

Hello,

Given:
  • Category A (category NOT geotagged)
    • Category A - Category A.1 (geotagged category, pictures in it)
Category A - Category A.2 (geotagged category, pictures in it)
Category A - Category A.3 (geotagged category, pictures in it)
and geotagging enabled, Phocagallery successfully displays a map for categories A.1, A.2 and A.3. However, the following error:

Geopositioning:
Error in Google Maps (longitude, latitude)

shows in Category A as a result of Category A not being geotagged.

I just don't want any map showing for Category A as it is only the main category and it does include any photos. Is there any way to accomplish that?

Greetings,

Hi, the problem is that there are parameters which take an effect to all itemid (from category to subcategory) so you can set if maps will be displayed or not and if you select the map will be displayed it takes an effect for all the tree so means for main category too, so there must be displayed some map :-(

Hello,

Ok Jan, no problem. You're doing a great job with Phoca Gallery, even more if we take into account that it's freely available. Now, I would kindly ask you that you take this into account for a forthcoming release. There are categories that are not specifically geo-related eg. food. However, the photos inside that category can make a reference to dishes from different countries and those pictures would actually be georeferenced. So that is a difference. Great job!
