Uploading multiple images stored on server

Post by finack »

Hello,

Thanks for all the time spent developing and supporting Phoca Gallery. Looks like a very nice add on.

I have a strange problem. I just installed the lates Phoca Gallery component. On the backen Phoca Gallery control panel, I created a category and now I want to add images to that category/gallery. I goto images add/multiple images and am, what appears to be, forced to upload/browse to my local pc. My pics aren't on my pc. They are already on the webserver but I have no way to tell Phoca Gallery this. Seems very odd that I don't have a choice of where to browse.

Anyways, I moved the photo's from my "templates/mytemplate/images/specific_imageDIR to the directory that was created in Root/images/phocagallery/categoryDIR by Phoca Gallery when I created my initial category. I can add the images individually through the the Phoca Gallery add image, but I have over 30 photo's.

Am I missing something or is Phoca Gallery always going to assume anytime I want to upload multiple images they are going to be locally stored on my PC? Is there anyway around this limitation if it is infact a limitation?

Can I change the default location that Phoca Gallery creates its category directories? All of my images are stored in an images folder within my template folder.

Thanks for your time.

Hi,
it is possible to add multiple images at once. You're right about Phocagallery not beeing able to browse folders outside /images/phocagallery/, so you need to move or copy your images to that folder.

Then go to images -> multiple add. there you have to browse to the folder with the images you want to add select them (or the entiere folder), choose the desired category (above the folders) and click save.

regards,
