Also, just wanted to mention that I tried to disable to java process in the params, area....and even though it is selected as "no" for java upload....I still get this error and java tab appears.

Hi, you can only disable the java upload for frontend, not for backend.Also, just wanted to mention that I tried to disable to java process in the params, area....and even though it is selected as "no" for java upload....I still get this error and java tab appears.

I had the same problem in alpha 2.6.0. After upgrade Java in my PC to newest version is all OK.

Re: Java upload error - Problem persists with v2.8 alfa
Strange observation. I also have teh v2.6 alfa and I installed the java applet. The first time it works and I was able to do multiple upload. Second attempt to do the upload, the error started showing up again. Now even when I use the standard upload button, I still get the error even though the image is uploaded, however, the java and flash uploader do not work at all.
I tested on both ie7 and FF3, Joomla v 1.14
