cannot get highslide etc working correctly

i have downloaded latest Joomla, phoca gellery and my site template is installed and i am using it etc.
the server has PHP5.

my issue is that i have setup phoca as per the documentation, no errors.
added category and images, no errors.
added a menu link to the category view. no errors

setup the site to use highslide... or atleast i told the parameters to use highslide....not sure if i need to install anything to get it running, nothing in the documentation about this...

however when veiwing the page, there is a list of the pics in thumbnail view down left side of page, and if i click on them,
the image opens in the same window with the highslide buttons underneath. the slideshow works, as do the start stop, back and next buttons. they just dont popup....
if i use shadowbox, nothing happenns, JAK lightbox, nothing.

any ideas anyone....

Hi, did you change the parameters in parameters component in menu link to gallery, see:

i have set everything inside the global config so the menu one should not apply... as long as im reading correctly...

i set detail window - highslide JS
shadowbox slideshow delay - 0
highslide JS class - Dark
highslide opacity - 0%
highslide outline type - none
highslide full image - Yes
"" close button - Yes
"" Slideshow - standard

just had an idea,
i changed the theme to JA-purity theme, and everything works fine...
so it seems that the issue is with the theme and CSS.

thanks for the reply though.... if you have any ideas to help me pin point it would be appreciated.

ok, found my issue,

i had removed the joomla hook into the headers a while back while developing the index file.
just meant that the headers for phoca werent getting inserted.
all fixed now.
