5 issues I dont see in forum

Hi,
First of all Thanks so much for this Phoca Gallery!
I am starting to get fond of Phoca Gallery, but to totally enthusiastic please help me with these issues:

1) I would like that the slide show can display larger images up to 900 pixel wide.

I would like the navigation buttons to be with: back, quit, stop, play/pause and forward buttons.

2) I want to be able to display a description in slideshow with settings shaddowbox. For example: the image is of a group of 20 students. I want to write the names of each of them in the description. If I do that now with the lightbox and other display options the names will be below the frame or in some cases partly hidden behind the navigation buttons of the slideshow. In Shadowbox there is no description at all, but that way of display is my preferred way, as it looks coolest in my opinion. How do I put description under the navigation buttons?

3) I would like that by clicking on the photo itself or a button of some kind, then the visitor can see the original size (xtra large), of the photos.

4) When I have uploaded the images to the galleries, I would like to be able to insert them into articles. So in the article I select image insert, and then I can choose directly from the Phoca galleries I have uploaded (and if possible also resize the image to what ever size I like).

5) Is it possible to move the "tree" into the right/main column, so that the category names can be read, and not just the first 2-3 words.

I am impressed with the Phoca Galleries so far, and they are much better than the gallery that comes with the joomla package, but I need the above options in order to be wildly enthusiastic.

Hi,

1) you should test all possible detail methods, every method can have different behaviours, e.g. highslide can display original images, the slideshow are different in every method

2) Shadowbox method doesn't have any place for description. Try to see e.g. Highslide, which does:

3) you can use external links (link to original image) or you can use Highslide to see the original image

5) if you mean the tree module, this depends on your Joomla! settings where you will display the tree and it depends on your template if the tree will be displayed Ok

Hi Jan,
thank you so much for the answer. I have 2 questions now:

I would like Highslide to see the original, ... how do I do that? Does it do it automatically or do I adjust settings to do it? I have put it to highslide, but am not sure that it displays full size yet. How can I be sure?

Another issue:
In Media manager there are no top menues/navigation after installing Phoca Galleries, and below the folders there is this error message:
Fatal error: Call to a member function authorize() on a non-object in /home/site/public_html/administrator/components/com_media/views/media/tmpl/default.php on line 64

Hi Jan,

Do you do cutom work for users of Phoca Gallery?
I am building a site, where there probably will be hundreds of photos after some years.

I must be able to make a long description under each photo when shown in large format, with readable size of font. Example: a class of 25 pupils with long names like: Angelita Maria D. Lopez, ....+ 24 others.
Additionally the text (names) in the discription must be able to have link to each persons profile-webpage on the site.

I am not a wild enthusiast of pop-up displays of images, as I am not able to display adverts in those. (I might not use ads, but I want to be able to use them, and also the links to the rest of the site are inaccessable if it is pop-up display.)

I would like that each gallery displays like on this page which I find extreemly pleasing to my eyes - plus it is embedded into the page.

I must admit I did sign up with them, but theirs has so many bugs and I find it easier to use your hierarchical structure than that of the ignite gallery. I find myself between two chairs, but have greater faith in Phoca Gallery, so if you can do this for me, please email me or reply here.

The advantage of Phoca Gallery is, you can create a tre of folders, subfolders and images on your PC, then you can upload it into your server by FTP and go to Multiple Add, Phoca Gallery will automatically convert folders to categories, subfolders to subcategories and creates thumbnails from images.

1) yes, you can display image in popup but you can display it as not popup
2) yes
3) yes
4) JAK is a POPUP method, so the image in JAK is displayed in POPUP
5) in JAK, this needs to be customized in JAK JS/html/css (didn't try it yet)
6) you can paste AdSense to these methods:
- standard popup javascript
- modal popup
- no popup
- highslide js popup as these are frame methods
you cannot paste it here:
- modal popup (image only)
- highslide popup (image only)
- shadowbox
- JAK Lightbox as there are only image methods.
