FTP image uploading

I am using Phoca Gallery 2.0.0 and am having problems uploading images using FTP.
I upload images to the /images/phocagallery/ subdirectories, but no thumbnails are produced.
In the Joomla 1.5 Menu Manager/Photo Galery, I found the Parameters - Component and made the following settings:
Pagination Thumbnail Creation: Yes
Clean Thumnails: No
Enable Thumbnails Creation: Yes
Crop Thumbnail: All
I can add image using the frontend, but this takes too long since I have about 250 images to upload.

Hi, thumbnails are not created while copying (ftp) you need to go e.g. to multiple add view to create thumbnails in admin, see:
