Uninstalled 2.57 beta now can't install 2.54

Let me get this out of the way first... I apologize if this was covered already. I tried to do a search and came up with nothing similar.

I initially installed 2.57 beta and I thought I had tested it enough on my sandbox site... (keyword being "thought")

I uninstalled it from my main site through Extension Manager --> Components. Everything still seems fine with my site.

I try to install 2.54 and it gives a message indicator like everything installed, but it doesn't reappear in the components menu.

So I go over to one of my sandbox sites and do the same thing. Once I uninstall 2.57 and then try to install 2.54, nothing.

Any ideas?

Hi, the installation of menu items is done by Joomla! installator. Try to check the xml (phocagallery.xml) for the menu items but I think there will be no problem as this xml is standard Joomla! installation XML

I assume I am looking in the right spot. It's like it says it installs but ends up not installing.

I believe this one can be marked as "Solved"

It was the plugin that was left over that, once I uninstalled the plugin, I could successfully reinstall and everything look good.
