i get this message when i want to create a folder for the category in the backend, using the last beta version , on joomla 1.5.14

Hi, Joomla! has a protection agains loop of creating folders. But I don't have any idea how did you get over this protection. There is limit set to 20. But in Phoca Gallery you can only create one folder at the moment.

Please let me know details what exactly did you done during creation of folder?

I get also this error-message when I create a folder (pictues --> multible add --> create folder), but the folder was created correctly.

I am also getting this, using Phoca 2.5.6 and 2.5.7beta on a pretty virgin Joomla 1.5.14 (upgraded last night).

I tried to upload multiple images using Java, and it fails on thumbnail creation. I looked at the folder structure that is created, and it creates the infinite loop of thumbs folders with the orginal images inside and a new nested thumbs folder ... and so on...

I have uninstalled all phoca components, deleted the phocagallery folder and its contents from the images folder. Reinstalled. Installation is successful... same problem.

I am going to now try and earlier version of Phoca. I think the last I have locally is 2.5.2.

Incidentally, when I installed Phoca 2.5.6 on a test server locally, running Joomla 1.5.10 it works fine! I will do a little more testing tomorrow, but any advice would be much appreciated.

Ok, maybe in new Joomla! version, there is some new security settings (but I am trying it on 1.5.14 - no problems there)

Thanks, I now have the system fixed runnig on Joomla 1.5.14 and PG2.5.7b.

Essentially it was permissions, but it may be a bit of code also. I was able to verify the permissions issues as per you other posts on thumbnail creation problems.

My method... Clean install of PG (no database, no legacy folders or images). Try upload of images using Java. Fails when creating thumbnail images. Checked contents of images/phocagallery/ folder (could see Thumbs folder but nested within this are images and other Thumbs folder....nested...nested etc...etc..). Deleted full contents of phocagallery folder but left the folder. Changed permiissions of phocagallery from 755 to 777. Thumbnails created fine (and only one Thumbs folder containing correct thumbs and no other thumbs folders). Then changed phocagallery folder back to 755. Thumbnails still work.

I haven't had time to replicate this whole 'fix method' from scratch, but I did replicate the problem (infinite loop of thumbs folders within phocagallery leading to thumbnail creating failure) with two clean installs (last night).

I will try and replicate sometime over the next few days to see if it means something to you.
