Error message when creating categories

Post by chriddo »

I am experiencing error messages or warnings when creating categories in Phoca Gallery 2.5.5 (running Joomla 1.5.14). You see the error messages below when I have created two categories.

It seems that, regardless of these warninges, everything is OK in the galleries on my website http://www.svenskasjohus.com/index.php? ... 25&lang=sv.

Hi, check permissions on your servers and ownership. It seems like you don't have right to acces files (images).

Hi, you should not change permission of libraries/joomla/filesystem/folder.php file but of folders where you or installation or some extensions try to write something, e.g. tmp folder, e.g. components folder, etc.

Hello, I think their permissions should not be written, put in 757 folders and 646 in the archives, but only if you change the folders to 757 is to operate ...
... and check the permissions of your joomla in Help => System Info => permission Directories, these folders must also be 757
Success

You do know that 757 and 646 are extremely dangerous permissions, don't you? This means that everyone has writing access to the directories and the files. (so also people who would like to put your website down)

sorry, the permissions 757 and 646 should be used only in some cases like this in order to install or upgrade ...
... as caro84g mentioned this is dangerous because of being more vulnerable to invasion.
