no thumbnails or images is displayed

Hello

When I try to upload or use images, they wont display properly. Even though I disable the thumbnail creation.

Joomla: 1.5.13 - with legacy mode
Phoca gallery version: 2.5.6

I've checked the php-settings for my host, and they are fine as far as I can see. Tjeck for yourself here:

Ive tried the following:
Manually uploading pictures through ftp - tried with gif, jpg and png.
Changing file permissions on all folders (both 755 and 777)
Activating the ftp layer
Removing and reinstalling phoca gallery
disabling and enabling automatic thumbnail creations... So even without it, I can't get the pictures to be displayed.


I've been reading up on the problem in this forum all day, but without any luck.

I really hope that you can help me - because you have made an incrediblely cool extension, and it is such a shame not being able to use it !

Hi, if you will create images the standard way on your server, are the thumbnails saved there?

As you have tried everything possible, try to disable the last parameters - JFile creating of thumbnails.

What do you mean by the standard way?

Ive tried disabling jfilethumbnail parameter, but it doesnt do anything good for me. Should it be disabled while some other thumbnail parameters are enabled? I still cant see any images :S

As a last possible option, could you maybe be talked into logging in for me and checking it? I am really running out of options, and your component is the only one that is good enough for my need. Ofcourse, then I would donate a little money for your patience.

Hi, logging does't help as this is a permissions/ownership/server problem.

If the thumbnails are not created on the server, you cannot see them ther you need to test your permissions and ownership again

- check GD if it works
- check if the files and folders has the same ownership (if they were installed with ftp layer enabled or they were not installed with ftp layer enabled - then there can be two different ownerships)
- if the ownerhip is ftp, you need to enable ftp layer and JFile thumbnail creation
- if not, then try to disable ftp layer and JFile thumbnail creation... I think you should ask your webhosting provider
