Help!Upgrade error

Post by Yenni »

HELP! I upgraded to 2.5.6 and dissaster! I can't see any images in my categories eventhough they are on the server. I have checked the promissions on the folders and they are set to 777. The categories are there as before but no images!
And after upgrading the front-end viewer can see the images but cannot access detailed view or slideshow. A user registration form comes up instead!!!

There may have been a problem when I was installing it, if so, should I reinstall again or go back to previous version? I looked in phpMyAdmin and all the images and their dscriptions are there...

Pleeeease anyone, help. I have over a hundred images with descriptions on there. /Yenni

Hi, which version was your previous version? The largest changes were in permission (but these have no effects on created folders)

Hi Jan
I think it was 2.54..
But since I can still see it all in phpMyAdmin, is there a chance of recovery maybe....

Between 2.5.4 and 2.5.6 were no changes regarding folder permission. Try to check categories rights (in edit of category) Can I see the site where this occurs?

Hi again , thank you so much for taking your time with this.
I tried editing the category rights but I only get: Errror saving Categories...
When I think about it, I never got the option to choose between upgrade or install when I did the upgrade, maybe an error occured then.
The site adress is: http://www.snarpan.se/joomla and the Phoca gallery is under the tab 'Barnens bilder' in the top menu.
Just let me know if you need access to something else, Im soo grateful for any help with this ;)

I have a backup of the site since before the Phoca upgrade, maybe that could help?
Many thanks / Yenni

Hi, by every installation of Phoca Gallery you can select if upgrade or install the component, there is no other way. Now you should check if you have Phoca Gallery tables in your database, see:

Thank you so much for your help!
It's all recovered, seem that I don't have enough php memory...
But the reason for my upgrade to begin with still remains...
When I try to open the slideshow I get the message that the site can't be openedhttp://www.snarpan/joomla/index.php?option=com ... &Itemid=72.
The image that had Itemid 72 has been deleted by me before the upgrade so I don't knowwhat to do now...???
Any ideas? / Yenni

Hi again
Yes I have recreated the menu link and clear the browser cache, but it's not working.. But now it has changed the error message to saying that it can't find Itemid 76 instead...?? But that image is actually there and there seems to be no problems with it..
