Short link to Category Page

Hello,

Supposing there is a category 'Cars'

What can be done to make the link to the category be www.sitename.com/cars

I will be grateful for any help on the topic

Hi, you need to create a menu link to category cars and you should add there "cars" as alias. Then the link to this category will be accessible under www.sitename.com/cars

of course, SEF in Joomla! needs to be enabled

Thanks for your reply Jan. It is very helpful. The issue however is that a lot of users create their own categories, is it possible that the menu automatically gets updated with the new category when a new category is added.

Hi, such behaviour needs to be customized in Joomla! + Phoca Gallery I don't know any method to run such function
