Category frontend upload and deletion

Post by izvor »

User Upload

I have created a category and define which registered users can upload pictures to that category (1)
also created a user folder, and etc....BUT always get registered user CAN create his own category and let him upload into that category (2).

Maybe i am wrong *likely* but how for (1) to configure many? or is it some other configuration...

Hi, see user rights:

https://www.phoca.cz/documents/2-phoca-g ... ser-upload

If some category conatains images, it cannot be removed, you need to remove the images first, then you can remove tha whole category.

Re: how to block user to create category

Post by Jan »

Hi, yes if you create link to user control panel, user can create category here, but if you create category for him and set the "author" of this category, then he is only able to edit the name of this category.

If you don't want he is able to change it, don't create link to user control panel. Users can upload images, publish and unpublish, delete images in category(ies) view too.

Hi izvor,

because you created a new topic and answered both of you topics within that one I merged the topics together to only one topic.

About the problems:
1) user upload in category view (category layout):
Make sure 'Enable user control panel' is set to yes (check this in the component - parameters of the menu-item = 2nd box on the right).
Make sure that you users have the right to upload in the specific category.
Make sure you can see the category in category view.

So follow the first track in the document you and Jan referred to.

2) deletion of categories:
Can you check in the backend (components > phoca gallery > images) if there is no image in the category. Go to the first page in the images tab and set the category filter to the category you want to delete. Then delete everything you see there.

I hope it's clearer now,

Regards, Carolien
