Ok. It took me a while... But now I know what you mean. Unfortunately there must be something else I'm missing and it drives me crazy.
I am in 'parameters - component' now. In detail view settings under detail window there is still only one setting I can use and that is shadowbox. Every other setting doesn't work. When I choose anything else than shadowbox the old problem in frontend is there again. Instead of the picture (when clicking on it in phoca gallery) the then open website is displayed again inside a box, like a new window is opened. Doesn't make any sense.
One other thought: Did I cause the problem by messing up some major global Joomla setting? Every time I click on a settings icon, even if it has nothing to do with phoca gallery, the settings of 'contacts' for example, a modal box opens. Didn't this use to open in a standard popup window?
Thanks again for your help and patience.

Re: Phoca Gallery doesn't display pictures in category
Hi,
all Joomla! parameters open in a modal box.
I was asking that to be sure that the modal box is loaded correctly. It's weird that the other views don't work ok.
Causes I can think of: no correct installation of the phoca gallery component.
- you're using the menu to display images aren't you?

Hi,
an incorrect installation could be the problem, however, I think it's unlikely since no errors or weird stuff occurred during installation.
As far as using a menu goes, I created a menuitem (Phoca Gallery Category List Layout) which when clicked on opens the gallery. I hope that's what you meant by using a menu to display images.

I really don't know anymore what could be the problem. You could try to do a reinstall, just upload the same package and press 'upgrade'.emtec wrote:an incorrect installation could be the problem, however, I think it's unlikely since no errors or weird stuff occurred during installation.

Re: Phoca Gallery doesn't display pictures in category
I was having the same problem with my modal window not working in my photo gallery.
However, the modal popup window WAS working in the administrator side.
I then realized I had "mootools.js" disabled in the template that I'm using, and when I enabled it, the modal window worked perfectly for my gallery.
Perhaps this helps?
