Display order for a category

In the front end is it possible to set the default ordering at the category level rather than the menu level which means all categories display using the same ordering.

I have some categories that need to be in date order whereas some others need alphabetic sequencing

Hi, for now, there is no option to set default ordering for specific categories. The ordering is based on Joomla rules.
