Styling Phoca Gallery - Jommla1.5

Post by tymoe »

Hi there,
i am quite a little confused.
i set up phoca gal and all works fine.
(as i am very happy that everything works so fine i even donated bucks for some beer to the developer wich you all should do)

now i am on my way to give the galery a constum clean tansparent look.
therefore i made canges in admin->components->phoa gallery->settings

i changed colors and everythign to my sites background color, but i still get this light grey
image background and the darker gray hover effect.

then i tried to change css in online mode wiht webdeveloper toolbar and changed entries to my desired look.

that worked fine in webdevelopers online modus, so i downloaded the phocasgallery.css, updated it,
inserted some settings to my default joomla template.css an uploaded everythin, but nothing changed.

then i thaught i had to modyfy the theme.xml in /administrator/components/com_phocagallery/front/assets/images/
and /administrator/components/com_phocagallery/front/assets/images/ and set some default parameters ty my color value

again nothing happened

then i realised that there are some embedded css entris that define exactly the values i have to change,
but i could not find them anywhere (first i thaught they were the parameters, but as written above nothing happened when i changed this.

so i am quite dissapointed that nearly no changes have shown any effects.

i just want a simple clean transparent layout , no hover effect, so background, no shadow, just some px space between the images

i also downloaded the theme com_phocagallery_theme_default_tr that i found here but i wassnt as transparent as i thaught.

so i am at the end with my latin, therefore i registered here and maybe i find someone answering my post and get me on the way how to solve my problem.

and, another question is, if i should rather design a transparent theme or modify my existing files?

(or maybe someone has already created a simple clean transparent theme with no border and can share it here)

thanky in advance.

Hi,

do you use the phoca gallery plugin to display the images?

Hi,

go to your menu item, (menus > your menu > your phocagallery menu item), and go to component parameters (2nd box on the right) and check if all the color boxes are empty. If they're empty then the global settings should be taken.

P.S. if you want to display transparent lines: just enter transparent in the box instead of a color. it'll work
