first, i'm not sure if this is a problem with phoca gallery, the joomla template i'm using or the phoca-theme so have mercy on me if this is not a gallery-problem.
Whenever i click on a thumbnail the first time after logging in (e.g.) a system-message is displayed above the original image. something like "thanks for logging in", "you need to be logged in", "thanks for registering", depending on whatever you've done before. i'm not sure if it's obvious what im trying to say, so i set up a test-account, hoping you don't use it to do something else than test
the page name is http://adlertal.de the login/pw is phoca/phoca and the menu item you need is "Kartenarchiv", just in case your german skills are worse than those of the average german thanks a lot for trying to help!
