Control Panel problems

Hi, I am trying to create a page where users can submit pictures of their aquariums into a category. I have currently got this working through giving them a link to the control panel page on the menu. However I would like to add notes to the page so that my users know what to put in the category title etc. Ideally I would like it to create the category title automaticaly by taking the user name but I would have no idea how to use this as I am a bit of a newbie. The link for my site is this (http://www.marine-fishkeeping.com). Once you register you have the option to add your tank, which will bring you to the control panel page on the front page. This is where I want to add some text, but cant work out how to do it. Thanks

Hi, some better behaviour for the frontend categories and images is planned, I hope I find time to realize it soon.
