I am the co-webmaster of http://100hoursofastronomy.org . We are using PhocaGallery for our member galleries, and are very pleased with the way it works. We are currently using 2.2.0 Beta, and have noticed a problem specific to images that have periods in their file name (e.g. SomeImage.20090303.jpg)
These images are succesfully uploaded, and the thumbnails created. When one views the gallery, the thumbnail is succesfully displayed, but when you click on the thumbnail and attempt to view the image, it give a 404 error.
If the exact same file is renamed by the user so that it has no periods in it (e.g. SomeImage_20090303.jpg), and re-uploads the image, then everything works fine.
Anybody got any ideas to resolving this?
Thanks,
Paul.

Re: Problems displaying images with periods in file name
Hi,
it's a problem which appears on some servers. For correct naming see: https://www.phoca.cz/documents/2-phoca-g ... ing-images
There is no other solution than instruct the uploaders to have correct filenames, I'm sorry. Batch renaming images can be done with IrfanView-software (free for non-commercial use) for example.
