A great thing in Phoca Gallery it will be the 'Category Feed Subscription'.
Before i setup my own site, i used to post my pictures at http://www.photoblog.com/jorgeabreu, and it was easy to my friends follow my new entries since they could 'Subscribe to this blog' or even 'RSS feed'.
That's also how i follow some nice photographers in that community.
Subscribing this blog, everytime someone has something new i receive an automatic e-mail like this:

One very nice feature in that blog is the 'E-mail Entry', where you fill a form with 'from', 'to', 'subject', and 'body' and the blog create tiny thumbnails with links to that entry and you just send the e-mail and then the person (or group) that you sent the 'e-mail' receives a very nice well composed e-mail inviting to see the new entry.
These features could be 'a more value' to each category in Phoca Gallery.
And I'm only referring the photoblog because what is good we have to tell, there are so many things there that i don't like and that's why i stop blogging there.
